Eva-Maria Salikhova spoke at ELF 2010, and in this short clip she brings the perspective of a twenty year old to the challenges associated with the role of educators today. Ken Dawson is Project Manager for Study Centres in Christchurch. Ken outlines the way co-located secondary schools used six study centres to cope with the 'curriculum compression' experienced by students following the Christchurch earthquakes, and describes how this initiative may continue into the future, with some study centres possibly operating as homework centres.
Dr Scott McLeod, Associate Professor in the Educational Administration programme at Iowa State University, and Director of the UCEA Center for the Advanced Study of Technology Leadership in Education (CASTLE) was the opening keynote speaker at the 2011 Learning@school conference in Rotorua, New Zealand. In his presentation Scott describes trends, changes and shifts in education, and challenges us to think about how we might address these challenges.
