Joel Dodd is a CORE Education eFellow and is head of faculty for mathematics at Okato, a coastal Taranaki secondary school. In this EDtalk fromULearn10 Joel discusses the loss of a centuries old paradigm for teaching and what is replacing it. Joel argues that students need to be equipped to generate, store, access, find, process, interpret, and report information.
Linda Lehrke from Hingaia Peninsula School, and 2011 eFellow, takes a different slant on the 'flipped classroom'. Linda argues that we talk a lot about how school has changed, society has changed, technology has changed, but more focus needs to be placed on how students have changed, and the implications.
Claire and Anne share their journey of creating professional relationships and collaborations using Twitter. They discuss the benefits of building a professional learning community with a mixture of face to face and online connections and how this community supports student learning.
