Mike Molloy, deputy principal at Prebbleton School in Christchurch, tells us about how his school has undertaken whole school tikanga Māori professional development. The school has set goals that include: teachers being culturally responsive in their practice; adopting practices that will enhance Māori student achievement; delivering teaching and learning programmes that meet the needs of Māori students; and a better understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi principle. Mike explores his personal experience with leading this PD and why it was important to him.
